2025-07-08: “Half dollar size hail fell about three miles east of Wellington. Numerous tree limbs were also blown down due to wind. However, the hail was more destructive about a mile to the southeast where a cotton field was completely destroyed.”
2023-07-07: “The first severe wind gust was 66 mph at 2016CDT. Another gust of 73 mph was measured at 2018CDT. Then, the mesonet measured an even higher wind gust of 76 mph at 2025CDT and continued to gust over 58 mph through 2029CDT.”
2023-07-07: “Multiple reports of tree damage across Wellington were given to the weather office in Amarillo. Branches ranges from 1 inch to greater than 3 inches.”
